Welcome back to our series. Now, let’s recap the reasons again before we get to #2.
The top three common reasons why locals aren’t walking through your doors here in the Hemet Valley are:
Now, let’s get right to #2…
Believe it or not, it takes a certain amount of trust for people to spend their hard-earned money with you. They have to trust that the quality is what you promise, your prices are fair, you’ll provide top-notch customer service, and more…
To build that trust, they must connect with you… somehow… some way. The more you share with them, the more you increase your chances of people finding reasons they like you, your location, the service, etc…
One way to help more potential customers connect with you is to answer their questions from the beginning. As noted in part one, you have to make sure they know who you are and what you sell.
Well, another part of that is… you have to make them promises and ensure they believe you’ll keep those promises… be it unique goods, high-end service, the lowest prices in town or buy two, get one free.
When it comes to the digital world, connections are built on what they can find out about you. If they hear about you, but they can’t find enough information to know if you’re worth the trip, they may not come.

If they see one of your ads or a recommendation on social media, they’ll probably want to know more about you before they come to your shop, store or office to spend money with you. So, they’ll take to Google to research you before deciding to visit.
Again… they are looking for answers to questions like:
Someone who is actively driving around town looking for something they need right now doesn’t want to check Facebook or Instagram on the go. Businesses like laundromats and car washes lose out on local sales specifically because they assume they don’t need to get found on Google.
But most people don’t drive up and down Florida looking for what they want. Today, most people will pull over, Google it, then continue the journey.
Always remember how things work here. If they can’t find it here, they will still find it even if it’s up 79, beyond the mountains, and past Beaumont somewhere.
So, is there an easy fix for this? Sure there is. Check it out…
Make sure your information exists online. And answer their questions in your content:
If you have a website, its job is to tell them all of this efficiently. So, if your website is outdated, fix it. Make sure it’s mobile friendly and fast. Give it a full front end and back end makeover if needed. And most of all… make sure the information about your company and the products and services you offer is up-to-date and accurate.
If you don’t have a website, put your business information on public platforms that search engines can see. Posting on private “social networks alone” is not enough.
Much of that content is behind logins and passwords, which means search engines can’t access it to share it in search results.
So, use those public spaces to your advantage, such as:
Go and update the writing on your website and all your business related social profiles and pages. Make sure to include less of who you are and more of what you sell. Tell them the problems your solutions solve. Because THAT’s what people are Googling.
And last but not least, REVIEWS MATTER. Encourage your customers to leave online reviews on your website, Google, Yelp or any public forum where you think they’ll benefit you most. We’ll discuss the benefits of online reviews more in the coming months. But for now, check out this blog post:
